Armor Types
There are four main types of hard armor: Jacket, Combat, Body and Shard. The math that's calculated using Armor Type and Armor Points is discussed below. Armor Shard
Back To Top Jacket Armor
Collecting Jacket armor can only bring you to a maximum of 50 Armor Points. When Combat armor is collected, only 30% of your previous Jacket Armor points will be passed onto the Combat Armor total. If Body Armor is collected only 18% (30% of 60%) of your previous Jacket Armor points will be passed onto the Combat Armor total. Although Jacket Armor affords the least amount of physical
protection, the armor also sustains the least amount of Armor Point damage
of all armor types.
Combat Armor
Combat Armor can be collected to a maximum of 100 Armor Points. If Body Armor is collected, 60% of your previous Combat Armor total will be passed onto the Body Armor total. Combat Armor can be collected to provide small upgrades to Body Armor up to 200 Armor Points. Combat Armor is a good all around suit of armor providing energy weapon protection and diminishing relatively slowly. Body Armor
Body Armor can also be collected to a maximum of 200 Armor Points. Although Body Armor is the most protective suit, it is
diminished the fastest while sustaining damage.
Armor Protection Calculation
After the multiply, the resultant number is how much damage the armor saved you from taking. That number is also subtracted from whatever armor value you have remaining. The difference between total damage delivered and the damage the armor absorbed is then subtracted from your health total. If in the process of absorbing damage you run out of armor, left over damage points will be carried over to your health. So, if you were wearing Combat Armor and were attacked
with a Railgun for 100 points of damage
and you currently had 50 Combat Armor and 100 health here's what would
happen. The 100 points of damage would be multiplied by .60 resulting
in 60 for armor and 40 for health. Since you've only got 50 armor,
all of your armor would be destroyed and the ten left over points would
be added to your health damage. You would end up taking 50 points
of health damage and would have no armor left.
