Thanx alot Elmek!
the Optimizing really had cleaned it very well,
infact it did no harm to the models looks, so may
I say, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Look for the first release of Chicken Ball
at the end of this week, that is, if i'm lucky.
I'm also modeling for Ripper23, which is going to
be quite the TC if I can manage enuff effort. once
: When doing a low poly model its good to make sure that all edges of the faces are visable (edit mesh/edges/select all edges, and press visable). This way you can see all the triangles in your writeframe views (shaded to if you have max2) so you wont have to worry about quads or anything like that. You should work on a triangle level for lowpoly models.
: I also find it much better to use a facet and highligts perspective view as apposed to a shaded view. This also to give me a better idea of how many triangles the model uses but also lets me see if any faces are badly connected to the verts, and it gives me a very good understanding of how the triangles are deformed during animation.
: To reduce the triangle count of your model is quite easy in max. Just use the 'Optimize' modifier. Its not perfect (no polyreducer ive seen is when you are taking away a large amount of polys) but its prolly the best way of doing it. Then you'll ofcours need to fix the vertices a bit to get the shape you wanted back.
