Chaingun
      Weapon Class: Hitscan
      Ammunition Type: Bullets
Ammunition Expended Per Discharge: One Bullet
Rate Of Fire: 20 bullets in 1st second, 40/sec there after
Most Effective Range: Medium to Long
Best Strategy:  Maintain Range and Keep Line of Sight to target

The chaingun works similarly to the machine gun with three exceptions. It has a slower "warm up" speed during which it has a lesser rate of fire. Also, it has a cool down period when the trigger is released allowing the barrel to remain spinning. Finally, when the weapon is out of ammo, the barrels will not stop spinning until the trigger is released allowing a new weapon to be selected.

When spinning at maximum speed, the weapon causes damage very quickly to targets near the crosshair.  The weapon is most effectively used in open areas where careful circle-strafing will allow the shooter to constantly keep the crosshair trained upon a target.

The best way to defeat this weapon is to momentarily duck out of view (move around a corner, or duck behind a crate or other feature) inciting the assailant to temporarily release the trigger. Since the weapon burns ammo extremely quickly, the shooter will
might deplete the weapon's ammo which creates a very vulnerable situation for the shooter while the cannon winds down and weapons are switched. If the shooter does release the trigger, that player will be equally vulnerable while the weapon rotates to a stop. When the trigger is pulled again, the weapon will shoot at a slower rate of fire for the first second.

If caught out in the open against a player with a chaingun the best defense is moving erratically until cover can be found.  By moving unpredictably, it should be difficult for the shooter to keep the weapon trained on you.
