: extract the health item from the pak file, and make a note of what directory it's in (baseq2/models/items/healing is the one i think you are talking about) then delete the md2 and the skin. put your model there and skin there, link the skin to the model with nst (make sure when you do this you save the mesh, not the skin!). then make a subdir under your quake2 dir (quake2/myhealth) and put your model and skin in quake2/myhealth/models/items/healing and then when you start the game with the game dir set to "myhealth" (quake2.exe +set game myhealth) you should see your model instead of the standard id model.

: : I'm having problems with nst and linking the skin.
: : I'm trying to replace a normal item from the pak with my
: : own model. Lets say I'm replacing the health
: : item model with my own tris.md2 and skin.pcx.

: : how would the process go. Or a better questions is
: : how would I set up the directorys and get my
: : model to load in place of the standard health model.
: : As of now I get errors, probably have to do with my
: : directories or the way my skin is linked.

: : Anyone with experience in making their own pak and loading
: : their own models in quake2 please reply :).
: : Thanks in advance.

: : Dojo-

ok i got it to work but how can i put it in
the pak0 and make it work so other ppl can
use it like my friends..

does it have to do with the dll so it knows to point to the pak? cause right now its just in my quake2 dir...

thanks again
