NST does work just fine for linking (at least for me), as to why ppl are having probs with it, and how to fix it i guess its best just to quote Npherno who wrote the thing...here it goes:

"The directory path for skins linked in NST is relative to your base folder (as anyone who tries to link and save outside that folder has been told), so if you move from "baseq2" to "project1" and you don't copy your skins, NST (as well as Q2) won't find them...keep your md2s and pcxs in the same folder, at all time, and make sure that the link refers to them that way...it's _very_ easy, I don't understand where people are having trouble...
NPherno"
(quote taken from planetquakes quake2modeling mailing list)

I've never tried studioMDx so i dont know what the prob might be there, but i would suspect that its the same prob there.

Perhaps the best thing would be not to use any kind fo 'project' folder at all...just put all the md2s/skins in there target folders from the start.

: yea but do u have a fix 4 said null skin error
: other then _USE_ QDATA! ie it there a program that links md2s to pcx right? [o' and just because NST or studioMDx loads the pcx doesnt mean that quake2 will!]
