: : Also, can I use seperate objects in Lightwave Layout, then save the frame as ONE object for the md2? or do i have to make just one object?

: CAN you use multiple objects? Kray-zee has said that you export a FRAME from layout, so that should mean that you can use as many objects as you want - as long they fit onto the same model...right?

You can use multiple objects, but it's a lot easier if you don't. With LightWave, one .lwo is one object. When compiling the model, you can only use one object per frame, and they all have to have the same # of points and they have to be in the same order. So using multiple objects would be a real pain in the ass with Lightwave. You cannot have multiple .lwo's make up one frame of animation in a .md2. .3ds supports multiple objects in a single .3ds file, but with most quake model progs it doesn't work properly. Someone (i think vorph) said qme will load a multi object .3ds file properly, but Quake/Quake 2 itself doesn't support multiple objects itself, that is just a handy feature of qme. and although I've never tried, I don't think you can export a multi-object .3ds file from Lightwave, and even if you could it would be a very time consuming process.
