: : Are the animations saved as part of the lwo file, or is it a lws file? i cant seem to get bones to work in Q2modeller, so i'd need to do them with Lightwave....kray-zee, how do you do it?

: : Also, is there a way to link bones, so that if and when they move, they move together? Like the variable-position wings on an F-14?

: you can link bones, except they're referred to as parent/child bones. the parent will move the child, but the child won't move the parent (unless you use ik goals). no animations are stored in .lwo, that's just the object. i make all my animations in lightwave, use the savemorf plugin to export all the frames of animation to numbered .lwo files, then compile it with qdata. last time i used q2 modeller it only used .asc files, which is why i never use it. just make all the animations in layout, export the frames, compile them with the lwo verison of qdata, and if you need to do any tweeking, you can open the md2 in q2 modeller or studio mdx or qme or whatever else there is to use. i do as much as i can in lightwave since i find it much easier to use than most other programs, studio mdx excluded. i like studio mdx a lot but it crashes too much :D but anyways, the only part of the md2 i don't make in lightwave is the skin, i use photopaint 7 and nst for that.
